Tom Stoyle Appointed Deputy Chair, Contingency Working Party for the IUA

Arch Insurance International is delighted to announce that Tom Stoyle, Senior Contingency Underwriter has been appointed as Deputy Chair, Contingency Working Party for the International Underwriting Association (IUA) of London.

In this role, Stoyle will help shape the direction of the Contingency Working Party and various related workstreams, representing the members’ interests and will take on the leadership role as Chair in two years’ time. 

Commenting on the appointment, Stoyle said: “It’s an honour to have been elected to this role, by my broking and underwriting peers, at such an exciting time for the Contingency market as it continues to return to pre-Covid levels. I am looking forward to working with the IUA and the Contingency Working Party to help shape the future of the market, promote a positive trading environment and support best practice.” 

The IUA Contingency Working Party was established in 2006 with the purpose to: 

  • Identify and discuss issues considered to be of interest or concern in the contingency market; 
  • Represent members’ interests via the IUA to regulatory and governmental bodies as required; 
  • Establish, as required, working groups to review, assess, develop, or comment upon policy wordings or clauses of interest to the contingency market;  
  • Provide delegates to liaison groups of other professional bodies as appropriate.
