Compelling Solutions: Digital at Arch

Hi, I’m Ed Short, Head of Digital at Arch Insurance International. At Arch, we have a clear goal to become a first-choice digital partner for our brokers. But what does that really mean?
For us, this means providing compelling solutions that enhance the digital customer experience across three core areas:
The first is digital products.
We aim to build well-executed, differentiated products. An essential part of this, and something that we feel differentiates us, is that all our digital products are underwriter led and owned. Brokers have the same access to our market leading expertise through our digital products, especially for the more complex classes.
Working alongside our open market underwriters means we’re able to provide specialist products to buyers who may have traditionally found it difficult to obtain certain types of coverage. Such as the products available via Arch IQ, our online quote and bind platform.
We can offer Arch underwriting for both specialty products and more standard commercial package insurance, to an increasingly diverse array of customers through a multitude of different channels.
Our second area of focus is around digital placement.
The distribution landscape is constantly evolving, and we want to ensure our brokers always have easy and seamless access to Arch capacity and expertise.
At Arch, we view digital as an additive to our open market underwriting. Our digital and underwriting teams work side-by-side, day-in-day-out to ensure a joined-up approach to our solutions and use digital distribution to enhance our lead underwriting capabilities, meaning we’re able to meet our brokers where and how they want to place business with us.
The final area is digital partnerships. We actively collaborate with our distribution partners, from our brokers to the Insurtech community, to further advance the way we build, trade and distribute our products, as well as support new and innovative companies to distribute theirs. We’re lucky enough to be a part of a vibrant ecosystem, and can offer capacity, advice and investment to our partners.
