Steve Bashford

Chief Executive, Arch UK Regional Division | UK Regional Division

Steve Bashford is Chief Executive of Arch Insurance’s UK Regional Division, which he has held since its formation in 2019.

Steve is also Executive Director and practice leader for Arch Insurance’s Financial Lines business, which encompasses Professional Liability, Executive Assurance, and Transactional Risk portfolios written across the London market, Australian and UK offices.

Since joining Arch in 2011 to lead the SME Professional Liability team, Steve’s roles have included Head of Financial Lines and Chief UW Officer for Financial, Property and Casualty lines of business. Having graduated in Law from Sheffield

University in 1986, Steve began his insurance career at The Excess Insurance Company. In 1991, Steve joined a Lloyd’s syndicate and in 1996 he moved to work for Alan Grant at Syndicate 991 where he established a new Lloyd’s service company (Standfast Insurance Services Ltd) as Managing Director. In 2001, he moved his team to Beazley where they successfully grew the business, taking responsibility for all SME PI and D&O outside of the USA.
