Matthew Smith

Matthew Smith is Managing Director for Arch Insurance (Bermuda). He was promoted from Senior Vice President and Underwriting Manager, Executive Assurance in January 2024. He became Underwriting Manager for Executive Assurance in 2011 and joined Arch as a vice president in Executive Assurance in 2002. He has roughly three decades of underwriting experience in professional liability, having worked previously with Chubb and AIG prior to joining Arch. Matt has a bachelor's degree from Hartwick College and a graduate degree in Forensic Accounting from Northeastern University. He also has the Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designation and completed the Wharton Executive Education Leadership Program.
