Brian First is President, Arch Insurance North America. He was promoted in December 2022 from EVP and Chief Underwriting Officer for Programs, Property and Specialty business units for Arch Insurance Group, a position he held since 2018. Prior to this, he served as SVP and then EVP, P&C Programs and Alternative Markets for Arch, President and COO for SPARTA Insurance Company and President, Captive Programs Division at Travelers/Discover Re. Brian has a bachelor's degree in Economics from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
