Arch’s UK Regional Terrorism insurance: Interview with Jason Whiddett, Head of Terrorism — UK Regions

Insights UK Regional Division
Risk Appetite

In this interview, Mike Bottle, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Distribution, sits down with Jason Whiddett, Head of Terrorism, to discuss the exciting enhancements we have made to our terrorism insurance offering for the UK market.

Here are four key highlights from their conversation:

  1. Broadened terrorism coverage: Arch has significantly enhanced its terrorism insurance wording to provide broader protection for clients. The policy now includes valuable extensions and sub-limits as standard, such as brand rehabilitation, failure of utilities, prevention of access, looting and loss of attraction. Flexible limits and portfolio underwriting are also available.
  2. New online broker portal: Arch has launched an innovative terrorism insurance portal that allows brokers to quote and bind policies online in just two to three minutes. The platform provides instant access to Arch’s enhanced coverage and the ability to customise limits for each risk. The portal handles a wide range of industries across the UK, including high-profile central London locations.
  3. Supplemental coverages added: Brokers can now easily add on nuclear, chemical, biological and radiological (NCBR) protection with limits from £1-5 million. Terrorism liability coverage is also offered with limits up to £10 million.
  4. Specialist terrorism expertise: Arch brings deep terrorism underwriting capabilities, with an experienced team that has been serving the UK market for many years. In addition to the portal, Arch can also craft tailor-made terrorism solutions for clients with more unique needs.
