Arch Insurance International Continues Contingency Team Expansion

Tom Stoyle appointed as Senior Underwriter

London, 17 November 2021 – Arch Insurance International (Arch or the Company) has today announced the appointment of Tom Stoyle as Senior Underwriter, Contingency, effective 24 November, as the Company continues to expand its position in the sector.

Stoyle will join Arch from Hiscox. Having joined the company in 2013, he initially worked within the Political Risk, Contingency and Kidnap & Ransom teams before becoming a Contingency Underwriter in 2016.

The announcement follows the recent appointments of Chris Rackliffe as Head of Contingency and Accident & Health and Claire Atley as a Senior Underwriter, Contingency. Rackliffe is a leading figure in the contingency arena with over 25 years of market experience, while Atley, who brings over 12 years of underwriting experience to the role, is a highly accomplished practitioner in the sector.

Offering insurance solutions on a worldwide basis, the contingency team operates across multiple sectors, such as event organisers, media companies, broadcasters, advertising agencies and sponsors. Coverage includes event cancellation, non-appearance, weather, terrorism and political violence for events, prize indemnity, film production and advertising agency protection.

Arch also recently became part of the UK Government Scheme for Live Events which began in September. The scheme provides cover for live events in the UK which are open to the public, including music events, sports events and trade shows.

Rackliffe said: “We are delighted that Tom will join our highly experienced contingency team as we continue to bolster our presence in the sector. We are well-positioned to further support our brokers by working collaboratively to deliver informed solutions, backed by responsive service and supported by a highly experienced claims team.”
