Arch Insurance Australia Announces Senior Underwriter Appointment

Carey Sturgiss joins as Senior Underwriter, Professional Indemnity, for the Southern Region 
 

 Sydney, 25 March 2025 – Arch Insurance Australia (Arch) has announced the appointment of Carey Sturgiss as Senior Underwriter, Professional Indemnity, for the Southern Region, effective immediately. 

With this appointment, Sturgiss focuses on key areas of the professional indemnity portfolio, including risks in the construction, A&E, legal and financial sectors. Based in Melbourne, she reports to Aisling Hegarty, Southern Region Underwriting Manager, Professional Indemnity. 

Sturgiss is a highly experienced underwriter and technical specialist with more than 20 years’ experience in the Financial Lines insurance space, across all types of professional risks including cyber. She joins Arch from Chubb Insurance where she was a Senior Underwriter. 

Commenting on the appointment, Hegarty said: “I’m delighted to welcome Carey as our Senior PI Underwriter. With a wealth of experience and a strong reputation in the market, Carey brings exceptional expertise that will further strengthen our underwriting capabilities.
